Those who
partner with CHILDREN'S MARITIME FOUNDATION have established a Scholarship
Program.
This
program provides financial assistance for children who want to attend a program
aboard the Tallship American Pride, yet do not have the funds to do so.
We consider this a priority in serving the community.
The
following are the guidelines that have been established, in order to keep
integrity in the designation of funds.
-
Completion of the
application form in full.
This application will allow the selection committee to become better
acquainted with you
and your interests.
-
Anyone is eligible
for scholarship funds regardless of race, creed, or gender.
-
Scholarships are available for a single
participant or a class.
-
To verify the
financial need of the applicant, a letter of recommendation must be
submitted by a credible source, over the age of 18, that is familiar with
the applicant’s family and financial situation, for example: a leader in a
local church, school, organization or government agency. The verification
must be submitted in the form of writing.
-
The written
recommendation may be followed-up with a telephone call of
confirmation.
-
Scholarships will be
awarded toward participation of a single program.
-
Scholarships will be
awarded according to date received and financial need
as long as funds are
available. Generally scholarships
do not exceed 50% of the
total cost. Full scholarships may be considered upon request of the
applicant as long as funds are available.
-
Certain restrictions apply to funding as specified by individual grantors.
Please be sure to fill out the entire
application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications must
be received no later than sixty (60) days prior to the program.
We at
CHILDREN'S MARITIME FOUNDATION hope that your child will be able to enjoy the
experience, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
