January 2009
Dear Friend:
On June 27, 2009, we will be hosting our first gala
event Treasure for the Tallship, benefiting the
Children's Maritime Foundation and American Pride, the
Official Tallship of Long Beach. We invite you to partner with us
in making it a huge success. The event will be held aboard our
historic tallship American Pride and the elegant motor yacht
Majestic.
Our goal is to help support the Children's Maritime Foundation, a
501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, which benefits school children
K-12. Since 1997, we have offered living-history and science
programs that stress marine biology, ecology, physics and math. Our
"scholarships" are available to individuals or entire classes if
needed. We need your help to continue offering these very
worthwhile programs, which are often a life-altering event for the
children. In these difficult times, financially challenged schools
look to us for help with these enrichment programs for their
students.
Your support can be items for our silent and live auctions, cash
donations, or product donations.
Other
options of support include purchasing tickets or sponsoring a table
for the event and buying raffle tickets.
All donations are tax deductible and a tax receipt with our Federal
Tax Number will be sent to you for your records. Please call the
Children's Maritime Foundation at (714) 970-8800 if you need to have
your item picked up or to arrange delivery to the ship.
We depend on private donations from caring individuals and
businesses, and we thank you in advance for your gift! You will
have the joy and satisfaction of knowing that you have made a
difference, in the lives of many deserving children, with your
generosity.
Being
a donor provides you with a wonderful opportunity to advertise your
business and get new prospective clients through your door. All
donors receive recognition at the event and in the auction program.
In addition, you are investing in the lives of young people – a
priceless investment that benefits the community as a whole with a
payoff that creates a lasting legacy.
Sincerely,
Helen H. Clinton
